      My Pop

Being Father's Day and all and me being a male who doesn't remember these kinds of things until the actual day, I thought I'd share a few thoughts about my Pop until his card arrives in the mail. The more I think about it, the more I believe that this is actually cooler than a card since there's pictures, but we are bound by tradition I suppose.

Pop, you never cared much for scrambled eggs, but you ate them when they were made for you Christmas morning 2004. You've always been a good example of doing what you need to do or doing what someone expects you to do even if you may not want to.

Pop has always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. You hear about it most vocally from Mom, but I know Pop enjoys their time too.

Pop, you've been a great example to the 4 of us boys and I couldn't have wanted a better father to emulate.

You got me (and some of my brothers) interested in physics, math, and personal organizer computers (how random).

Any success I have as a father I owe to my Pop. Don't worry, I'm not trying to blame my shortcomings on you, just giving credit where it's due. You've been a model example of a priesthood bearer and I hope I can be like you someday.

      Love,

      Derek (& family)

      My Dad

Since it is Father's Day I want to make sure my Dad knows how much I love him.  My Dad has always been a very hard worker.

He has always been gentle, loving, and kind.  He has always given each of his children (and now his grandchildren) individual time with him.

And even though I have always been his favorite, he makes it so my sisters think that they are his favorite.

The thing that I am most grateful for is that he taught me to have a testimony of Jesus Christ.  The knowledge I have of his true church has changed my life and  made my life wonderful.  My Dad has also taught me, through his example, to be kind and generous to everyone.  I love you Dad!  Happy Father's Day!

      Love,

      Your Favorite Daughter
