      4th of July

Kathryn gathered all the kids together and made flags with them on the morning of the fourth, so I decided we needed to have something to stick the flags in.  So we made cupcakes together which was interesting with 5 kids lined up on chairs in my small kitchen all wanting to "help" make the cupcakes.  They then got to frost their own cupcake and put the flag in it!

Before dinner we went to the park to get some energy out of the kids.  Unfortunately we had been having thunder storms in the evenings so the park had a lot of standing water by the toys.  So Derek got the kids to race and try to beat each others time running in circles

After the park we went to dinner at Denny's and then went to the airport to watch the planes land and to waste some time before fireworks.  Unfortunately there were no planes landing at the time.  At least we got to see the sun set!

We then went to see the fireworks and found out that we should have talked to some people about the city of Nashua's fireworks and where the best place to see them from would be.  We drove towards the stadium and quickly realized that was a mistake.  There was no parking anywhere, so we continued past the stadium to the church parking lot and attempted to see them from there.  But as I am sure you can tell from the look on the kids faces, we could not see many fireworks.  We saw the tops of some of them and we could see the different colors light up the sky so we played "see if you can guess which color is goin to be next!"  At least next year we will be more prepared!

      Downtown Boston with Family

Joseph, Anjuli, Colin, Conner, and Colby came to stay with us for a week around the 4th of July.  So we planned a trip to Boston.  We parked and took the subway to Boston Commons.

The kids are statues incase you couldn't tell.

The kids really wanted to play in the "Frog Pond."  It was a really nice wading pool, but we weren't prepared for them to get wet.  So they just played at the park.  We then hopped back on the subway to go to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. This picture below is actually in front of City Hall they had a band playing, so we stopped to listen for a little while.

This is a Statue of Samuel Adams.  That is Faneuil Hall is the building in the back round.

That is pretty much all we saw, because the kids were tired by that point.  At this point in our trip Matthew and Anthony were in a single stroller together, Elizabeth was asleep in another stroller and Kathryn got on my shoulders after this picture and we went home and jumped in to the swimming pool.  It was a very hot and fun day!
