Many of you may of heard about the ice storm in New Hampshire. It was an interesting experience for us. That night our power kept going on and then off again and we knew this because everytime our power came back on the door bell would ring. At one point though, Derek woke up to a loud sound and said what is that? I said "Somebody is chopping down trees!" He said "Oh yeah" and then rolled over and went back to sleep as if that was a logical thing for people to be doing at 3 am! But that is what it sounded like all night long. When we actually got up in the morning it looked like a war zone around Nashua. We had power when we woke up, but it went out at 9 am and then came back on at 1:15. We were really lucky. Some of our friends didn't have power for close to two weeks. On the news they said the worse power outage they had had up to this point was 50,000 people with out power. This time there were 400,000 people with out power. We were really grateful we didn't have trees down on our vehicles or house. Well here are a few pictures:
This is the tree that we park under. All of the trees were really pretty with all the ice on them, especially once the sun came out that afternoon.
This one is a picture from our front porch of the tree off of our back porch. You can also see the tree in the background that is fallen.
